Randy E. Butler, 39, of the 3800 block of Second Avenue died of heart and liver ailments Monday at Mercy Medical Center Services will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at Southtown Funeral Home. Cremation will follow services.

Mr. Butler had lived in Des Moines all of his life. He had been a chef with Embassy Suites and enjoyed cooking.

He is survived by his parents, Sally and Delmar Butler, and a sister Cathy Butler, all of Des Moines; and a brother, James of St. Charles.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
