MRS. AMY MONTGOMERY RITES AT NEW VIRGINIA

Mrs. Amy B. Montgomery, who lived in St. Charles for many years, died Friday, Feb. 24, at her home in New Virginia. She was 86 years of age.

Mrs. Montgomery was the former Amy Belle Crawford, daughter of John S. and Hannah Crawford. She was born near Middleton, in Des Moines county, on March 17, 1869. She was married to Charles W. Montgomery on Oct. 7, 1890. They were the parents of two children.

Mrs. Montgomery lived many years in St. Charles, moving to New Virginia three years ago. She was a member of the Baptist church.

Surviving are two sons, John E. Montgomery and William A. Montgomery, both of New Virginia; four grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and a brother, Albert Crawford of Tulare, Calif.

Funeral services were held from the New Virginia Methodist church, with the Rev. Leroy W. Moore officiating. Burial was made in the New Virginia cemetery.
