J. H. ANDERSON OF ST. CHARLES DIES

Served As Rural Carrier in That Community for 38 Years

James H. Anderson, son of a pioneer St. Charles physician, died Thursday, March 1, at his home in that community. He was 75 years of age.

Mr. Anderson was a son of Dr. William and Annie Miller Anderson. He was born in St. Charles on Oct. 17, 1880. The home in which he died stands on the same site as the house in which he was born. His father came to St. Charles in 1860.

He graduated from the St. Charles high school with the class of 1898. He was married on Aug. 31, 1910, to Beulah Zay Buchanan. They were the parents of five children.

He was a life-long member of the United Presbyterian church in St. Charles, the church, of which his mother's father was the first pastor.

His life was spent in farming, in addition, he served as rural mail carrier out of St. Charles from 1906 until his retirement in 1944, a period of 38 years.

Surviving are his wife; three children, Charles Anderson, Mrs. Wilma Edgar and Mrs. Alice Blair; five grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Susie Graham of Sterling, Kan.

Funeral services were held Sunday from the St. Charles United Presbyterian church, conducted by the Rev. S. C. Picken and the Rev. Robert M. Jones. Burial was made in the St. Charles cemetery.
