Funeral services were held Jan. 22 from the Congregational church in Stuart for Paul O. Walton of that community, whose death occurred there Jan. 20.

Mr. Walton was 51 years of age. He was born near Earlham on Aug. 5, 1904, a son of John M. and Belle Walton. He spent the first half of his life in Madison county, but had lived at Stuart about 25 years.

He was a salesman by profession. He was a member of the Church of Christ and the Masonic lodge. He graduated from the Earlham high school and attended Penn College at Oskaloosa.

He was married March 4, 1938, at Adel, to Gladys M. Ganoe, who survives him. He also leaves two daughters, Sandra and Paula; and his mother, Mrs. Belle Walton.

The Rev. Robert York conducted his funeral services. Burial was made at Adel.

Paul Otis Walton was born near Earlham, August 5, 1904, departed this life January 20, 1956 at the age of 51 years, five months and 15 days.

He was the only child of John Merrit and Ella Belle Walton.

He was graduated from the Earlham high school and attended Penn college.

On March 4, 1938 he was united in marriage to Gladys Marie Ganoe. To this union were born two daughters, Sandra Sue and Paula Marie.

His early part of married life was spent on the farm until failing health prevented carrying on his farm activities.

Paul was quiet, faithful and devoted to his home and family. A kind and loving husband, father and neighbor and will be missed by all who knew him.

He has always been active in church and community affairs. Also, a member of the Masonic Token Lodge 304 AF & AM and OES Chapter 133 of Stuart.

Paul was a man of many excellent qualities of character and his industry, integrity and ability have brought him a gratifying degree of prosperity in his home life.

He was preceded in death by his father, John M. Walton in 1948.

Surviving him are his wife, Gladys, daughters, Sandra Sue and Paula Marie, his mother, Mrs. Belle Walton, and a host of relatives and friends.

Services were conducted from the Stuart Congregational church at 2:00 p.m., January 22, by Rev. Robert N. D. Yoak and Masonic services by Token Lodge No. 304 AF & AM of Stuart.

Interment was in Oakland cemetery at Adel.
