Former Nellie Dabney of Douglas Township Was 76 Years Old
Mrs. Oscar R. Muir, a former resident of Madison county, died Thursday, Jan. 26, at her home in Indianapolis, Ind., after an extended illness. She was 76 years of age.
Mrs. Muir was the former Nellie Dabney, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Wesley Dabney, and was born in Douglas township. She attended the local schools, and as a young woman was married here to Oscar R. Muir. For the past 46 years their home had been in Indianapolis.
She was a member of the Methodist church, the Poetry Society of Indiana, and other organizations in her community.
Surviving are her husband; two sons, John D. and Richard D. Muir, and a daughter, Mrs. John B. Isham, all of Indianapolis. She also leaves eight grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs. Sam C. Smith of Iowa City, Mrs. Charles T. Shearer and Mrs. Charles L. Childers, both of Los Angeles.
Funeral services were held Jan. 31 at Indianapolis and burial was made in Crown Hill cemetery there.
