MRS. CALLIE FOSTER DIES IN CALIFORNIA
Member of Pioneer Family Here Dies At Age of 85 Years
Mrs. Callie Foster, member of a pioneer Madison county family and resident of this county for 40 years, died Saturday, Jan. 25, at Los Angeles, Calif. She was the mother of Glen Foster of Winterset.
Mrs. Foster was 85 years of age at her death. She was born in Madison county, Sept. 23, 1870, a daughter of Alex and Nannie Dunlap. She was a member of the Methodist church and Eastern Star lodge.
She was married here March 29, 1891, to Heber Foster. They celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary in 1941, but Mr. Foster died four years later, on April 9, 1945.
She leaves four sons, Glen Foster of Winterset, Charles Foster of Grant's Pass, Ore., Eugene Foster of Santa Monica, Calif., and Archie Foster of Fresno, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Al Ginn of Los Angeles; 18 grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Forbes of Corto Lane, Ida., and Mrs. Edna Waters of Rocky Ford, Colo.
Funeral services were held Jan. 28 from the Normandy Avenue Methodist church in Los Angeles, and burial was made in the Inglewood Park cemetery in that city.
