GAILE A. WEITRICH DIES IN CALIFORNIA

Gaile A. Weitrich, native of the Penn Center community, who had lived in California the past 20 years, died at Whittier in that state on Jan. 22, according to word received here. He was 42 years of age.

Mr. Weitrich was born here Oct. 25, 1913, a son of R. A. and Mayma Colby Weitrich. When he was 10 years of age he was stricken with infantile paralysis, which left him a wheel-chair invalid the remainder of his life. Nevertheless, he graduated from the Earlham high school, with the class of 1936. Since then he had followed an active career as a jewelryman, writer, and salesman. He was active in the Lions club at Whittier.

He is survived by his mother; a brother, Lyle Weitrich; three sisters; and his grandmother, Mrs. Peter Cook of Earlham.

Funeral services were held in Whittier.
