MRS. ELMER ROBERTS OF WINTERSET DIES
Death Follows Illness of One Week at Age of 58 Years
Mrs. Elmer Roberts, a resident of Madison county nearly all her life, died at the Memorial hospital in Winterset Sunday, Feb. 5, after an illness of one week. She was 58 years of age.
Mrs. Roberts was the former Berdena Givan, daughter of William and Carrie Givan, and was born near Webster on March 17, 1897. She spent her early life in that community.
She was married Sept. 22, 1915 to Elmer Roberts. They farmed in Jackson township for several years, then spent five years in and near Blunt, S. Dak.
She is survived by her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Eunice Kindler of Vancouver, Wash., Mrs. Lois Armstrong of Valley, Nebr., and Mrs. Ruth Cline of Los Angeles; a son, Kenneth Roberts, who recently was discharged from military service, returning from England; five grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Fred Eyerly; and a brother, Roscoe Givan, both of Winterset.
Funeral services were to be held this Wednesday from the Anderson home for funerals, conducted by the Rev. George DeF. Fisher, pastor of the Winterset Presbyterian church. Burial was to be made in the Winterset cemetery.
