BESSIE SHAMBAUGH OF WINTERSET DIES

Was Jefferson Township Resident for Many Years

Mrs. Lloyd Shambaugh of Winterset, a well-known resident of Jefferson township for most of her life, died at Iowa City last Thursday. She was 66 years of age, and had been in failing health since last summer.

Mrs. Shambaugh was the former Bessie Cook, and most of her life was spent in Jefferson township. She was married in 1909 to Lloyd Shambaugh. In recent years their home had been in Winterset.

She was a graduate of the Van Meter high school. She was a member of the Methodist church and for many years was active in Farm Bureau work.

Surviving are her husband; a son, Rex Shambaugh of Jefferson township; and three grandchildren, Wayne, Linda and Craig.

Funeral services were held Sunday from the Van Meter Methodist church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
