Edna Mae Parker, 77, of Truro died May 19, 2003 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.

Funeral services were held Thursday, May 22, at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola with the Rev. Dennis Shepherd and Pastor Marty Burgus officiating. Burial was at Union Cemetery in Clarke County.

Edna Parker was born Jan. 17, 1926 to Oscar Fields and Helen (Simmerman) Spellerberg of Murray. She graduated from the Murray School District. On Jan. 11, 1947, she married Lee Parker in Troy, Kan. Edna had been employed as a seamstress at Snowdon's in Osceola for 20 years. A resident of Truro since 1950, she had previously resided in the Murray area. She was a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ in Truro, Jolly Fu Club and the Order of the Eastern Star Model Chapter 170 in St. Charles (48 years). She also had been on the Truro Library Board and Earlham Home Care Advisory Board.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Don Spellerberg; and a daughter, Terry Sue, in infancy.

She is survived by her husband, Lee of Truro; two daughters, Cathie Collins of St. Charles and Cindy Sandford of Osceola; a brother, Merrill Spellerberg of Murray; and five grandchildren.
