Von Palmer, DeSoto

Services for Von Palmer, 53, DeSoto, who died of cancer at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines Oct. 11, were held Oct. 13 at the DeSoto United Methodist Church. Burial was at the Fairview Cemetery located south of DeSoto in Madison County.

Mr. Palmer lived in DeSoto for most of his life and was born in Madison County on Sept. 7, 1931. He was the son of Holace and Marjorie Palmer.

On Dec. 20, 1957, he married Carol Harvey. He was a trucker for Rhodes Trucking Inc. of Van Meter and a member of the DeSoto United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Carol; his mother of Van Meter; his stepfather, Carl E. Hines of Van Meter; a brother, Dale Palmer of DeSoto; and a step-brother, Bill Hines of Albuquerque, N. M.
