Page 1Death of Mrs. Oglesbee
Mrs. Noah Oglesbee, who had been in poor health for several years, died at her home in Scott township, Friday, December 20th. Mrs. Oglesbee was 58 years of age and had been critically ill during the past two weeks.
Mrs. Oglesbee had lived her entire (unreadable) a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eli Stevens and was born September 26, 1871. On November 24, 1895 she was married to Mr. Oglesbee, and they were the parents of eleven children, four of whom have preceded the mother in death.
The deceased is survived by her husband, three daughters, Mrs. Edward King of Kamrar; Gladys and Versie, who are at home, and four sons, Harry, of Peru; Everett of Winterset, and Noah, Jr., and Harley, who are also at home. Mrs. Oglesbee is also survived by six grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. G. A. Bolin, of Bentonsport, and Mrs. Fred Day, of Bushnell, Nebraska, and three brothers, Warren and Lester Stevens, of Winterset, and Darwin Stevens, of St. Charles.
Mr. and Mrs. Oglesbee became members of the Elm Grove church in 1912. The Rev. E. H. Sands, pastor of the Elm Grove church and the Peru Methodist church, conducted the funeral services at the Elm Grove church Sunday afternoon, December 22, at 1:30 o’clock, and burial was made in that cemetery.
