GEORGIANA KNIGHT OF ST. CHARLES DIES

Mrs. Georgiana Knight of St. Charles, a life-long resident of Madison county, died Saturday, Jan. 7, at a Winterset nursing home. She was 82 years of age, and had been ill with a heart condition the past four years.

Mrs. Knight was the former Georgiana Carter, daughter of William and Elizabeth Walkup Carter. She was born at Patterson on Aug. 23, 1873. She was married to Joseph S. Knight of St. Charles on Oct. 5, 1904. They were the parents of four children. One daughter died in infancy, and a son, Russell Knight, in 1946. The husband and father died in 1950.

She had been a member of the Methodist church since early childhood. She was well known as a music teacher in St. Charles and community.

Mrs. Knight leaves two daughters, Mrs. Arminta Brandt of Brooklyn, Ia., and Mrs. Betty Coutts of St. Charles; two grandchildren, Don Brandt of Chicago and Mrs. Shirley Pemberton, of Wyandotte, Mich.; two great grandchildren; and a brother, J. Walkup Carter of St. Charles.

Funeral services were held this Tuesday from the St. Charles Methodist church, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Eldon Haworth. Burial was made in the St. Charles cemetery.
