Truro Man Hangs Self

Truro, March 4. Special. – The people of Truro were shocked Friday morning when word was brought to town that Ernie McKinney had hanged himself. The McKinney’s were just moving to a farm about one-half mile west of town, recently vacated by the Clyde Miller family. Mr. McKinney left the house about six o’clock a. m., to do his chores. After a couple of hours, when he did not return, his wife sent her husband’s younger brother to look for him, thinking perhaps he had been kicked by a horse. The boy went to the barn, where he found his brother hanging by a halter rope. Ernie was always kind and friendly and never seemed to worry. A note was found in his pocket, also three checks dated the fore part of February. The note was quite worn and addressed to his wife. He was devoted to his only child, a son of four years, and a kind husband to the wife he leaves. His body was brought to the W. D. Kale undertaking parlor where it was cared for until Monday, when funeral services were held from St. Charles. Interment was made in the Blair Chapel cemetery.
