Marie Oliver, Winterset

Services for Marie Oliver, 73, Winterset, who died April 20 at the Madison County Memorial Hospital were held Mon., April 23, at the Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Smith officiating. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.

Born in Sioux Rapids on November 13, 1916, she was the daughter of Henry and Ida Smith Thornburg. A nurses aide and housekeeper, she was married to George L. Oliver on January 11, 1949 at Winterset.

Mrs. Oliver had lived here for the past 45 years after coming from Harlan.

Survivors include sons, Kenneth L. Billeter of Winterset and Virgil L. Billeter of Grafton, Va.; a daughter, Mary Ann Evison of Murray; sisters, Virginia McNaughton and Elaine Bambenek, both of Harlan; 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and a sister.
