Funeral services for William Robert Stephenson were held at the Ramsey-Richards Funeral home, Monday, November 7th at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev. H. L. Olmstead of the Church of Christ. Burial was in the Winterset cemetery.
He is survived by his wife and eight children as follows: Mrs. Ella Hoisington of Valley Park, Missouri; John of Van Meter; Elmer, Frank, Ida Ridout, Mrs. Blanch Wilson of Winterset; Mary Wilson of Booneville; William of Patterson.
Three sisters and one brother also survive: Fanny Stewart, Jane France, Mrs. Louise Preece, Saskatchewan, Canada; James Stephenson of Jefferson, also twenty-two grandchildren.
Mr. Stephenson came to Madison county about fifty years ago. He has lived here continuously since that time. He was born in Ohio, August 23, 1862, the son of Frederick and Sophia Stephenson. He passed away at the age of seventy at his home in Madison county.
September 28, 1888 he was united in marriage to Mary Rose Villier.
