MORTUARY

Elizabeth Ann Leinard, daughter of James and Sarah Smith, was born in Coschocton county, Ohio, November 19, 1850, and passed from this life, November 17, 1932, at her home in Winterset. Had she lived two more days she would have reached her 83rd birthday.

On April 23, 1871, she was united in marriage to John Worthington Leinard. This union was blessed with two sons and two daughters, the eldest son, Bert Leinard having preceded her in death, passing away at Tingley, Iowa in 1905.

They lived two years near Winterset, then moved to Greenfield, where they resided for about nineteen years, returning later to the farm southwest of Winterset where they lived till the death of Mr. Leinard in 1917, when she with her one daughter then living at home moved to Winterset, where she has spent the remainder of her life.

Early in life she showed her faith in the Christian Religion and united with the Methodist church to which church and to which religion she always gave her most loyal devotion, attending each and every service when at all possible for her to do so. During the past ten years her health has been gradually failing until the past year she has been confined to her home much of the time.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her daughters Mrs. W. S. Inlow of Winterset, and Mrs. Altha Jones of Sioux City; a son, Arthur Leinard of Des Moines; three sisters, Mrs. M. C. Leinard of Winterset; Mrs. Frank Daniels of Salina, Kansas; and Mrs. James Hale of West Liberty, Iowa; two brothers, J. N. Smith of Jamaica and M. J. Smith of Winterset. Also eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren, besides many nephews and nieces, and other relatives and a host of friends.

Services were held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Methodist church.
