William Thomas Davis was born in Madison county, March 13, 1866, and died December 14, 1932, aged 66 years, 9 months and one day.
He lived all his life in Madison county, moving from Earlham to Truro about thirty years ago.
He was united in marriage to Miss Alice Connelee on November 14, 1888, and to this union four children were born, two girls and two boys. They are Mrs. Arthur Nicoson, of Armstrong, Mrs. Boyd Porter of St. Charles, Harold Davis of Alta and Leslie Davis of Truro.
After his marriage he became a member of the United Presbyterian Church of Patterson and when he moved to Truro, he placed his membership in the Methodist church of this place.
His friends and acquaintances will always remember him for his everready smile and innate friendliness. He was the soul of kindness to those of his family, wife, children and grandchildren, with out exception unfallingly and flawlessly kind. His last words addressed to his wife were, "When I get well, what do you want me to do."
He leaves to mourn his passing besides the children already named, two sisters, Mrs. Will Young of North Branch, Minnesota; Mrs. Mattie Heggs of Compton, California and one brother, John Davis of Waukeegan, Illinois, eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild, many other relatives and a large number of friends.
The funeral service was conducted by the Rev. I. G. Randels in the Methodist church of Truro, Saturday, December 17, 1932. Music was furnished by a mixed quartette.
The body was laid away in the St. Charles cemetery.
