DONALD OAKES DIED FRIDAY AT DES MOINES

Donald W. Oakes of Truro died Friday, July 10 at Des Moines with a heart attack. He was 53 years of age.

Mr. Oakes was a carpenter, who had made his home in Truro since 1957. He was a native of Columbus Junction, where he was born Sept. 22, 1910, a son of Don and Guyla Webster Oakes. He was member of the Methodist church.

He was married in Des Moines on Jan. 21, 1950 to Geraldine Frazier, who survives him. He also leaves a daughter, Mrs. John Englehoven of Sacramento, Calif.; a son, Denny Oakes of Des Moines; two grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Herbert Green of Rock Island, Ill.; a brother, William Oakes of Columbus Junction; and his parents.

Funeral services were held from the Kale Funeral home in charge of the Rev. James Nicholson. Burial was made in Young cemetery at Truro.
