Funeral Rites Held Friday at United Presbyterian Church
Mrs. Arminda Ogburn, a life-long resident of Madison county, died at Des Moines last Wednesday. She was 70 years of age.
Mrs. Ogburn was the former Arminda King and was born near Earlham on June 8, 1867. On March 15, 1888, she was married to Walter A. Ogburn. He died on October 22, 1929.
Mr. and Mrs. Ogburn were the parents of one son and two daughters. One of the daughters, Elsie died in infancy. The surviving children are Oscar Ogburn of near Van Meter and Mrs. Rosa Ann Lyons of Des Moines.
Mrs. Ogburn had affiliated with the United Brethren church as a young woman. She later transferred her membership to the United Presbyterian church.
In addition to her children she leaves two brothers, William King of Fayetteville, Ark., and Frank King of Boise, Idaho.; and two grandchildren, Lucile and Maxine Ogburn, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Ogburn.
Funeral services were held Friday from the United Presbyterian church in Winterset, in charge of the Rev. W. C. Porter of Waterloo, former pastor of the local church, assisted by the Rev. W. G. Robertson, present pastor. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
