MARY NORTON DIES SUDDENLY

Winterset Resident Dies At Memorial Hospital at Age of 54 Years

Mrs. Mary Norton of Winterset, member of a well-known family in this community, died at Memorial hospital here Sunday, May 21, after a brief illness. She was 54 years of age.

Mrs. Norton was the former Mary E. Kitchell, daughter of James A. and Linnie Edwards Kitchell. She was born in Madison county Aug. 23, 1912, and spent most of her life in Winterset, where she had engaged in bakery and restaurant work in recent years.

She was a member of the Methodist church.

She is survived by a daughter, Carol Ann Norton of Cedar Rapids; her mother, Mrs. Linnie M. Kitchell of Winterset; and a brother, W. W. Kitchell of Des Moines.

Funeral services were held Tuesday from the First Methodist church of Winterset, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Everett K. Burham. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
