ROBERT NICHOLS OF PERU DIES

Desth Occurred on Sunday at Memorial Hospital in Winterset

Robert C. Nichols, a resident of the Peru community most of his life, died Sunday, July 1, at Memorial hospital in Winterset. He was 77 years of age.

Mr. Nichols was born near Truro, Jan. 16, 1885, a son of John and Harriett Hogue Nichols. His life was spent in farming, and working as a carpenter. He was a member of the Peru Christian church.

He was married early in life to Bessie McKibben. Her death occurred in 1918. Ten years later he was married to Carrie Smith who survives him.

Two of his three children died in infancy. In addition to his wife, he leaves a son, Jack Nichols of Lamsen, Wisc.; four grandchildren; a brother, George Nichols of Wichita, Kan.; and a sister, Mrs. Zella McCaughey of Carlisle.

Funeral services were to be held this Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Kale Funeral home at Truro, in charge of the Rev. Millard Marshall. Burial was to be made in the Peru cemetery.
