Services for Shirley Jo Nicholl, 50, Winterset, who died June 9 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, were held Monday, June 13 at the United Methodist Church in Winterset with the Rev. Byron Ayers and the Rev. Scott Grotewold of Ft. Dodge officiating. Burial was at St. Charles Cemetery.
Born at St. Charles, she was the daughter of Charles and Jessie Martin Strawn. She attended St. Charles schools and married Ivan Nicholl in St. Charles on June 24, 1951.
She was employed by the Madison County Memorial Hospital in the records department. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Winterset and the United Methodist Church in Winterset.
Survivors include her husband; sons, David and wife Lisa of Winterset, and Jeff and wife Bonnie of Adel; daughters, Debby Black and husband Dan of Martensdale, and Stacey Jo at home; her mother, Jessie Strawn of Winterset; brothers, Ronald and wife Wilma of Des Moines, John and wife Northa of St. Charles, Dale and wife Rosemary of Altoona, and Wayne and wife Salle of St. Charles; a sister, Wilmarie McDonald and husband Kenneth of St. Charles; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father and a brother.
