Orel H. Newton, Los Angeles, Calif.

Orel H. "Bud" Newton, 59, Los Angeles, Calif., died suddenly in Los Angeles Aug. 24.

Mr. Newton was born in High Gate, Mo., on April 8, 1927, the son of Cecil Wellington and Martha Blanche Newton. Moving with his family to Winterset in 1928, he was a resident of Winterset and rural Patterson until joining the Navy in 1944. Since 1948, he resided in the Los Angeles area.

Survivors include his wife, Marvel; sons, Ronald and Michael; and four granddaughters, all of Los Angeles; his stepmother, Pearl of St. James, Mo.; a brother, Charles of Florissant, Mo.; sisters, Irene Zimmerle of Wright City, Mo., Lorene Paneitz of Owensville, Mo., and Louise Holdman of St. Louis, Mo.; half-sisters, Bonita Kaufmann of Mt. Sterling, Ill., and Wanda Moreland of St. James, Mo.

Mr. Newton was preceded in death by his parents. Burial was in the Baptist Cemetery in High Gate.
