Joann Airhart, 67, died Wednesday, November 26, 2003. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, December 1 at the Merle Hay Funeral Home. Burial of her cremated remains will be 1 p.m., Tuesday at the Chapel Hill Gardens. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.
Joann was born March 3, 1936 in Winterset, IA. the daughter of Bert and Georgia (Pace) Waters. She was a longtime member of the Lee Town Assembly Church, serving as a worship leader and participating in the choir. Joann enjoyed camping, collecting angels and playing the piano. She was full of life, a happy and bright person who enjoyed time with her family. She will be dearly missed.
Surviving is her husband, Clarence; children, Noah (Brenda) Mines of Madrid, IA; Sarah (Mike) Boettger of Des Moines; and Rebecca (Silvano) Stasolla of Shelton, CT; stepchildren, Richard Airhart of Ankeny, IA; Sharon (Roger) Moen of Des Moines; Steve (Sharon) Airhart of Des Moines; Ronald (Connie) Airhart of Des Moines; three brothers and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Leona Rattray.
