Funeral services for Leland Paul VanderLinden, 63, were held June 28 at the United Methodist Church in Murray. Funeral services are now pending for his wife Irene VanderLinden who died July 13. Mr. VanderLinden died June 24 near Afton as a result of an automobile accident while Mrs. Vanderlinden died from injuries received in the same auto accident.
A longtime farmer in the Murray area, Mr. VanderLinden also worked as a rural mail carrier for the past 16 years with the Murray Post Office. He was the post commander of the American Legion in Murray, a volunteer firefighter and active in community activities. No information has yet been received on Mrs. VanderLinden.
Surviving relatives include a daughter, Kellie Kerns and her husband Bart of Truro.
