Wednesday, December 28, 1995Wesley Clark Stalcup, 81, of Des Moines, died of a heart attack Dec. 21, 1995 at the Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services were Dec. 23 at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset. Pastor Lloyd Osborn officiated the services and burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.
He was born in Lorimor on April 10, 1914 to Loren O. and Lena E. (Gibson) Stalcup. He married Mary L. Bailey on July 1, 1937 in Des Moines. He was a retired machinist having been employed by Tension Envelope. He was also a farmer and had lived in Madison County prior to moving to Des Moines 30 years ago. He was a member of the Lorimor Methodist Church and was a W.W.II Army Veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; and three sisters.
Surviving relatives include his wife of Des Moines; one son, James W. Stalcup and wife Judy of Prescott; two daughters, Mary Staley and husband Noah of Winterset and Lena Smith and husband Elvin of Des Moines; one sister, Fern Thurman of Lorimor; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
