Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 5 at Collins Funeral Home for Margaret Newkirk of Winterset, who died Sept. 3 at Madison County Memorial Hospital. She was 84 years old.
Born Aug. 3, 1897 in Beacon, Iowa, she was the daughter of Nephi and Merm Gray Griffiths.
On Feb. 20, 1916, she married Jess C. Newkirk in Omaha, Neb. Mr. Newkirk passed away in 1968.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; twin sons Floyd and Lloyd; one brother and two sisters.
She is survived by a daughter, Ruby E. Robbins of Patterson and a brother, George Griffiths of Marshalltown.
