Wednesday, November 10, 1897Mrs. George Clark was seized with a stroke of paralysis in Mr. Walker Garnett's store on Thursday of last week, and has not been able to speak or to move since.

Wednesday, November 17, 1897.Obit: the following statement was written by Mrs. Clark herself, January 12, 1895:
" Nancy Nelson Clark was born April 10, 1824, in Harrison County, Ohio. When 8 years old moved with her parents to Guernsey County. Embraced religion when young, united with the Associate church in Cambridge, the county seat of Guernsey County; married George Clark in 1845; came with her husband to Madison County, Iowa in 1859, gave birth to 11 children, 7 sons and 4 daughters, of whom 7 are living at this time; has been a member of the United Presbyterian church ever since the Associate and Associate Reformed churches united."
