Mildred Emory-McCaslen, 80, of Creston, died Feb. 11, 1995 at the Crest Haven Care Center in Creston. Funeral services were Feb. 14 at the Keating-Lindsay Golden Rule Funeral Home in Creston. The Rev. Ed Van Holland officiated the services with burial at the Greenfield Cemetery.
She was born March 13, 1914 in Adair County to James Ernest and Elizabeth (Gordon) Spooner. She married C. E. Emory on Dec. 24, 1932 in Bridgewater. She then married Ronald McCaslen on July 27, 1976. She was an employee for several years in the Dietary Department of the Greater Community Hospital. She was a member of the Farm Bureau and the Eagles Auxiliary in Creston.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two sisters; two brothers; and two grandsons.
Surviving relatives include two sons, Harlan Emory and wife Sharon of Adel, and Dean Emory and wife Waunita of Winterset; four grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
