Mrs. Marion E. Nelson of Cedar Rapids, a former resident of Winterset, died Friday Dec. 27, at Cedar Rapids. She was 46 years of age.
Mrs. Nelson was the former Martha Blizzard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arch Blizzard, and was born Oct. 29, 1917 in Indianola.
When she was 21 years of age she moved to Winterset, and was married here to Joseph E. Sayre. They were parents of three children, Aseneth J., Jacke E., and Althea K. There were also three step-children, Ernest R., Thelma L., and Doris I. Sayre.
Mr. Sayre died several years later, and she subsequently was married to Marion E. Nelson. They were parents of three children, Phillis E., Robert D., and Barbara A. Nelson.
In addition to her husband and children, she leaves several grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Harriett Gleichner of Carmel, Calif., and Mrs. Ruth Frey of Creston; and a brother, John Blizzard of Sacramento, Calif.
Funeral services were held Dec. 30 from the Bickford-Murray Funeral home in Greenfield, with the Rev. Anthony Blankers officiating. Burial was made in the Greenfield cemetery.
