Hazel Marie Neal, 95, of Winterset died of a heart ailment Sunday, March 22, 1998 at Madison County Memorial Hospital.
Memorial services were held at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday), March 25 at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset with Pastor Steve Koch officiating. Cremains will be interred at Union Chapel Cemetery in Madison County.
Hazel Neal was born April 24, 1902 in Madison County to Alonzo Ferdinand and Margaret Ann Kranz Powell. She married Harry C. Neal Nov. 27, 1924 in Madison County. She was a homemaker and a retired cook for Peterson's Nursing Home and Tim's Club Cafe. She was a member of the Holliwell Happy Hour Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Denny; one daughter, Gerry Neal; two brothers, Bertzel and Harlan Powell; and two sisters, Myrtle Huisman and Flora Orr.
She is survived by a daughter, Daisy Dell Benge (husband Eddie) of Winterset; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
