July 29, 1964ZOE NABERS DIES AT FORT MADISON
Mrs. Theodore Nabers, a native of Winterset, died last Tuesday at Fort Madison, Iowa at the age of 77.
She once was a Democratic candidate for Congress and was reported to be the first woman delegate from Iowa to a national Democratic convention.
She served as postmaster at Fort Madison from 1941 to 1957.
The former Zoe Skinner, she was the daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. G. N. Skinner of Winterset. She was a graduate of Drake University and taught in the Winterset high school for several years before going to Fort Madison where she taught until her marriage to Mr. Nabers.
Funeral services were held last Friday at the Union Presbyterian church in Fort Madison. She is survived by a daughter, four grandchildren and a brother, Frank Skinner of Des Moines.
