Services For Orbah Murrell

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, August 30, at 3:30 p.m. from Collins Funeral Home for Orbah C. Murrell, who died Sunday, August 27, 1978, at Villa West Care Center.

He was born July 31, 1907 at St. Joseph, Mo., the son of Frederick S. and Lillian Palmer.

Mr. Murrell was retired as a mechanic from the Gendler Stone Products Company in Madison County. He served with the National Guard for five years and was affiliated with the First Christian Church. His marriage to Ilene Garland took place January 15, 1931 at Des Moines. She survives her husband.

Survivors include a son, Philip Leslie Murrell of Coon Rapids, Iowa; a daughter, T. Rowene Renfrow (Mrs. William) of Adel; four grandchildren; three brothers, Edward of Winterset, Fred of Denver, Colo. and Dale of Oregon and a half sister, Mrs. Dora Thompson of Story City.

Mr. Murrell was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Paul and Dave; a sister, Mrs. Mildred Peterson; two half-sisters, Mrs. Laura Barcroft and Mrs. Nellis Platt and a daughter at birth, Marilyn Ann.

Officiating at Wednesday's services was Kenneth Helmers. Burial was made at the Winterset Cemetery.
