Funeral services for George Edward Murrell, 77 of R.R. 1, Winterset were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 6 at Collins Funeral Home. Burial was at the Barney Cemetery with Rev. David Livingston officiating. Mr. Murrell died June 2 at his home.
The son of Fred and Lillian Palmer Murrell, he was born on January 28, 1902, at St. Joseph, Mo. He was married to Martha Wilson on June 14, 1924 in Winterset.
A lifetime resident, Mr. Murrell was a member of the First Christian Church and the Masonic Lodge. He retired as a brick mason in 1969.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister. Survivors include his wife Martha; a son, Rex Edward Murrell; and two brothers, Fred Murrell of Denver, Colo., and Dale Murrell of Medford, Ore.
