DEATH OF REV. C. K. CORKILL

Funeral services for the Rev. Charles K. Corkill, 59, former pastor of the Peru Methodist church, were held at Tidrick's funeral home Tuesday afternoon, September 6th and burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.

Mr. Corkill was born in Galva, Illinois, but he spent his youth near Dover, Kansas. He entered the ministry in Kansas, and received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Kansas at Lawrence in 1907. He then went to the school of Theology, of Boston University, and in 1909 he transferred his conference membership to the Des Moines conferences.

He was married on the 10th day of April 1912 to Miss Bessie E. King, a resident of the Elm Grove neighborhood. They are the parents of one child, who with the wife survives him. He also leaves a brother John Corkill of Dover, Kansas.

Charges which he has held in the Des Moines conference include, Peru, New Virginia, Lineville, Melcher, Allerton, Menlo, Elliott, Manilla, Bagley, Paton and Dana. He was serving as pastor at Strahan, when he became ill. He was taken to a Des Moines hospital last Friday, and died there Sunday.

The Rev. A. R. Weed, pastor of the West Star and Worthington churches, Rev. A. P. Keast, pastor of the Winterset church, and Rev. D. J. Shenton of Clarinda, district superintendent conducted the services.
