Thursday, September 22, 1932DEATH OF FINLEY NULL
Finley E. Null, long time resident of Winterset, died at his home here last Thursday afternoon, September 15th. Mr. Null who was 71 years of age, had been in poor health, for several years. His condition had been critical, the past few weeks.
Mr. Null was born in New London, but came to Winterset with his parents, the William Nulls, when he was a boy. Since then he has resided here. His marriage to Miss Sylvia Grace Smith took place September 30, 1886, and they were the parents of three children, who with the mother survive him: Carleton Null of San Francisco, Mrs. Mabel Hardcastle of Bristow, Oklahoma and Earle of Winterset.
His funeral services were held at the Earle Null home on West Court avenue, Sunday afternoon, September 18th at 4 o'clock, and burial was in the Winterset cemetery. The Rev. R. C. Cully, pastor of the First Presbyterian church conducted the services, with the members of the I.O.O.F. lodge assisting at the cemetery.

Finley Elliot Null, son of William Harrison and Sarah Jane Null was born June 6, 1861 at New London, Iowa, and died at his home in Winterset, September 15, 1932, at the age of 71 years, 3 months and 3 days.
He came with his parents to Winterset, at an early age, and has made that place his home ever since. He entered the mercantile business in 1879 and has been actively engaged in different lines of business until the last few years, when ill health forced him to retire.
He was united in marriage to Miss Sylvia Grace Smith, September 30, 1886. To this union were born three children: Carleton E. of San Francisco, California; Mrs. Mabel Hardcastle of Bristow, Oklahoma and Earle of this city.
As a child he was baptized in the Methodist church and after marriage joined the Presbyterian church. He is survived by the widow and three children, also one grandson, Jack Null.
The funeral services were conducted by Dr. R. C. Cully pastor of the First Presbyterian church at Winterset, on Sunday, September 18th, at 4:00 at the home of his son Earle Null. The I.O.O.F. of which he had been a member about 40 years had charge of the interment at the Rock City cemetery.
