Geo. H. Cly, 61, Ends Life by Hanging

Despondent Over Health, Finances

Lifeless Body Found in Cowshed by Daughter Early Wednesday Morning. Is Survived by Wife and Four Children. Funeral at Penn Center Tomorrow.

Alarmed because he did not respond to the call to breakfast, the family of George H. Cly instituted a search which discovered the lifeless body of their husband and father hanging in a cowshed on his farm early Wednesday morning. Mr. Cly was 61 years of age and had occupied a number of farms in this vicinity during the past few years. The tragedy occurred at a farm about half way between Earlham and Dexter where he moved this spring.

Mr. Cly arose as usual about six-thirty and went out to do the chores. Sometime later when he did not appear for breakfast Mrs. Cly and a daughter went out to look for him. He was discovered by the daughter. Dallas County Coroner L. H. DeFord was summoned at once but since the facts pointed so clearly to suicide no inquest was held. Financial troubles and ill health are believed to have been causes of the act.

Cly is survived by his widow and four children. Mrs. Cly only recently recovered from a broken hip.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at two-thirty from the Penn Center Church, conducted by the Rev. Youtzler, pastor of the Presbyterian Church at Dexter.
