MORTUARY

Lewis C. Bowers was born near Janesville, Muskingum county, Ohio on February 19, 1864. He was brought to Iowa by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Bowers in the spring of 1867. They first lived in Mt. Vernon for two years. They then moved to Polk county where they remained until 1878, when they moved to near Winterset.

On January 1, 1889, he was united in marriage to Miss Jennie Rinard. A baby daughter was born to them on May 27, 1890. She was taken from them on September 1st and was followed by the mother in December of the same year.

He was again united in marriage on June 2, 1913 to Mrs. Nancy Moorman. He is survived by her and by one brother and a sister: Marion Bowers of Tingley, Iowa; and Mary of Ladysmith, Wisconsin.

In early manhood, Mr. Bowers united with the Fairview M. E. church and after patient hopeful suffering passed to his reward confessing his holy trust in Jesus Christ as his Saviour.

The funeral was held at the Tidrick funeral home on Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. It was conducted by Rev. W. C. Porter. Burial was made at Fairview.
