Mrs. Onie Belle Murphy died on Dec. 23d, at her home in Winterset, after an attack of rheumatism, which finally reached her heart with fatal results. Mrs. Murphy was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Barber and had lived her entire life in Madison county. Besides her husband, Hollis V. Murphy, she leaves two daughters and many other near relatives.
Rev. W. J. Stewart conducted funeral services on Sunday afternoon at Union Chapel, the remains being buried in the church cemetery.

Onie Belle Barber, daughter of J. H. and Louisa Barber was born in Madison county, Dec. 30, 1883 and departed this life Dec. 23, 1920, age 36 years, 11 months and 23 days.
She grew to womanhood in the neighborhood where she was born, united with the Methodist church when a girl and was married to Hollis V. Murphy on March 29, 1904. To this union were born two daughters; Edna and Alberta Appeline.
She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, two daughters, an aged mother, five brothers and sisters: Mrs. Alice Brown of Patterson, George W. Barber of Winterset, Mrs. Llaura McKanna of Three Forks, Mont.; Arthur and Walter Barber of Lincoln, Nebr.; one half-brother James Landers of Winterset and other relatives and friends. One half-sister, Mrs. Tava Neal preceded her in death.
Funeral services conducted by Rev. W. J. Stewart, were held at Union Chapel Sunday afternoon and the body laid to rest in the church cemetery.
