Fred Murphy, Winterset

Fred Murphy, 78, died Wed., June 24, 1992 at Bethesda Care Center. Funeral services were held June 27 at Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Leonard Leslie officiating.

Mr. Murphy was born December 17, 1913 in Luray, Mo. to Wilbur Claude and Dora Francis (Wagner) Murphy and married Reva Cord November 14, 1937 in Winterset. He was a Madison County resident for most of his life and a charter member of St. Charles Lions Club.

He was preceded in death by a brother.

Surviving are his wife and two sisters, Bertha Davis and Katherine Lovell, both of Denver, Colo.

Burial was at Winterset Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church.
