Shirley Jurgensen, Prole

Shirley M. Jurgensen, 65, died November 6, 1993 at the Des Moines General Hospital. Funeral services were held at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset on November 9, 1993 with the Rev. Don Frank officiating. Burial was at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in rural Van Meter.

She was born October 28, 1928 in Verdigree, Nebr. to Lester and Hazel (Powell) Root. She married Nyle Jurgensen February 14, 1948 in Des Moines. She was a homemaker and farm partner on her farm east of Patterson for the past 38 years. She also worked for 17 years at the H & R Block office in Winterset.

She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant son.

Surviving relatives include her husband; three daughters, Jeanie Kennedy and husband Denny of Bemidji, Minn., Karen Hauschildt and husband Randy of Earlham, Niki Steenhoek and husband Daryl of Altoona; one brother, Leslie Root of Morgansville, Kan., three sisters, Lois Priest of Norwalk, Carol Barnes of Manley, and Naomi Hill of Winterset; and five grandchildren.

Memorials may be directed to the Madison County Memorial Hospital.
