Mary Ellen Kelleher Hatley, 76, of Des Moines died of emphysema May 1, 1994 at the Hospice Kavanagh House in Des Moines. Services were today (Wednesday) at the St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial at the Glendale Cemetery.
She was a native of Cumming and a medical assistant at the College of Osteopathic Medicine. She was a member of and a bookkeeper for the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Des Moines.
Surviving relatives include four daughters, Ann Lund of Overland Park, Kan., Nora Buchmann of Lenexa, Kans., Gwen Whiting of Hawthorne Woods, Ill., and Pet Forest of Altoona; two brothers, Peter Kelleher of Houston and Michael Kelleher of Des Moines; five sisters, Elizabeth Schafer of Baltimore, Agnes McLaughlin of Winterset, Sue Gollon of Minneapolis, Rita Rooney of Bondurant and Gretchen Wilson of Denver, Colo.; and nine grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Hospice Kavanagh House.
