Funeral Monday For ALICE WOODY

Mrs. Elton Woody, well known resident of this community, died Nov. 3rd, 1956, at the Madison county Memorial hospital at the age of 66. Mrs. Woody became ill, last Thursday afternoon, and she was taken to the hospital where coronary thrombosis caused her death, about 4 p.m. Saturday

Mrs. Woody, the former Mary Alice Koser, was born in Winterset, September 13, 1890, the daughter of Samuel D. and Mary Alice Koser. Her father was a dry goods merchant, and she has always made her home in Winterset. She was married to Elton H. Woody, March 25, 1923.

They were the parents of one son, William Elton Woody, who now resides in Des Moines. In addition to her husband, and son, she is survived by a daughter-in-law, Mary Alice Woody of Des Moines, and two sisters: Mrs. Loraine Miles of Winterset and Mrs. Beulah Enright of Chicago.

Mrs. Woody had been a member of the First Presbyterian church, since childhood, and has always been an active member of the congregation. She was secretary of the Women's Council, at the time of her death. She was also a member of the P.E.O. sisterhood, and a member of the Eastern Star chapter of Winterset and several social organizations.

Funeral services for Mrs. Woody were held at the First Presbyterian church in Winterset Monday, Nov. 5, at 3 o'clock, and burial was made in the Winterset cemetery. Her pastor, Dr. George De F. Fisher conducted the services, and he was assisted by a brother-in-law of Mr. Woody, the Rev. Myron Hayes of Sigourney.
