JOHN C. BECK, 94, Died Saturday

John C. Beck of Winterset, well-known retired farmer, died Saturday, June 29, 1963, at Memorial hospital in Winterset. He was 94 years of age.

Mr. Beck was a life-long resident of Madison county. He was born in Jackson township April 15, 1869, a son of James and Mary Thomson Beck. His life was spent farming in Jackson township until 18 years ago, when he retired and moved into Winterset.

He was married Feb. 2, 1904, to Floss Stewart, who survives him.

He was a member of the United Presbyterian church, and a life time member of the Knights of Pythias.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two daughters, Mrs. Lora Willcox of Earlham and Mrs. Marguerite Zendzian of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; a son, Stewart Beck of Detroit, Mich.; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a sister, Jeanette of Glendale, Calif.

Funeral services were held this Tuesday from the Wilson Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. John E. Fink, pastor of the First United Presbyterian church of Winterset, assisted by Rev. Albert Bullock. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
