Reva M. Morris, Des Moines

Reva Ethel Miller Morris, 101, died of a heart ailment July 19, 1998 at Ramsey Memorial Home in Des Moines.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 23, at Kale Funeral Home in Truro. Burial will be at Young Cemetery in Truro. Visitation will be held after 10 a.m. Wednesday. The family will receive friends from 9-10 a.m. Thursday morning, prior to the service.

Reva Morris was born March 22, 1897, near Hanley in Madison County to Eli Henry and Lois Ellen (Simpson) Miller. She was educated in Madison County rural and Truro public schools. She married Arthur Leo Morris on Aug. 11, 1916. Following their marriage, they moved to Wyoming. They returned to Madison County in 1917 and began farming. Reva, a homemaker, had resided in Ramsey Memorial Home since 1986.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two daughters, one son, two sisters and two brothers.

She is survived by two sons, Merrill (wife Darlene) of Des Moines and Lester (wife Ruth) of Elkhart; one daughter, Mary Lou Waterbury (husband Clayton) of Omaha, Neb.; one daughter-in-law, Garnett Morris of Des Moines; four sisters, Dollie Felton of Brooklyn, Mary Barker of Colonial Manor in Amana, Zola Murphy of Claremore, Okla., and Mildred Hawkins of Ainsworth; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and six stepgreat-great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Ramsey Memorial Home in Des Moines.
