Services for Orville E. Morris, 81, who died March 8 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center, were held Saturday, March 11, at the Friends Church in Earlham with the Rev. Eldon Cole officiating. Burial was at the Earlham Cemetery.
Born on June 12, 1907 at Grinnell, Kan., he was the son of Henry and Daisy Miller Morris.
On Sept. 16, 1925, he was married to Edna Briley in Onawa, Iowa. The family moved from Onawa to Fremont County, then to Madison County in 1929 where they engaged in farming until retirement in the mid-1970s.
Mr. Morris was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and two brothers.
Survivors include his wife Edna of Bethesda Care Center in Winterset; sons, Kenneth and wife Pat and Vernon and wife Joan, all of Earlham; and three sisters, Erma Hall of Careywood, Ida., Iola Hawkins of Sioux City and Audrey Jensen of South Sioux City, Neb., and five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
