Vincent James Dalton, 65, of Iowa City, died April 13, 1995 at his home following a long illness. Father Robert Busher officiated the funeral services held April 18 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Iowa City. Burial was at the St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
He was born June 20, 1928 in rural Homestead to James J. and Dorothy M. (Sponar) Dalton. He married Betty Howell, formerly of Winterset, on Feb. 15, 1958. He had worked for Williams Bros. Pipeline for 42 years until his retirement. He was a member of the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He had served in the National Guard for 12 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister; and one brother.
Surviving relatives include his wife; one son, Daniel Dalton and wife Amy of Iowa City; one daughter, Debra Dalton of Iowa City; three brothers, Donald Dalton of Springfield, Ark., James Dalton of Solon, and Patrick Dalton of Iowa City.
