Ruth Cline, 84, of Osceola, died of a heart ailment July 24, 1995 at the Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset. Funeral services will be July 28 at 2 p.m. at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola. The Rev. Neville Clayton of Osceola will officiate the services and burial will be at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Osceola. Visitation will be Thursday after 9 a.m. with family visitation 7-8 p.m.

She was born May 11, 1911 in Clarke County to Charles W. and Annie Holmes Patterson. She married R. Clayton Cline in Nevada on Dec. 26, 1928. She was a homemaker and had lived most of her life in Clarke County. She was a member of the Quilter’s Club at the First Christian Church and a past member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was also a member of the Nifty Needles and King and Kueens Camping Club and the Osceola Saddle Club, and a member of the first Christian Church in Osceola.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters; and two brothers.

Surviving relatives include two daughters, Glida Mae Jones and husband Franklin of Winterset and Velma Jeanne Black and husband Gilbert of Ankeny; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Osceola Senior Center or the First Christian Church in Osceola.
