Robert Cunningham, Des Moines

Robert E. Cunningham, 63, of Des Moines, died Aug. 19, 1994 at his home. Funeral services were Aug. 22, 1994 at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset. The Rev. Jim Peterson of Westside Church of Christ in Des Moines officiated with burial at the Winterset Cemetery.

He was born April 14, 1931 in Winterset to Roy and Martha (Eggy) Cunningham. He was a retired cook and career serviceman for the U.S. Air Force. He had lived in Winterset until joining the service in 1951 and then since 1980. He was a member of the Westside Church of Christ in Des Moines and a member of the U.S. Air Force serving in the Korean War and the Viet Nam War.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers.

Surviving relatives include one son, David Cunningham of Atlanta, Ga, two daughters, Debbie Waters and husband Bud of Augusta, Ga., and Cindy Dolquist and husband Leon of Des Moines; two sisters Mertie Herrick of Avoca, and Doris Hill of Winterset; and five grandchildren.
